Contact Lenses
Our Optometrist can help you find the best contact lenses for your lifestyle.
At Wyntre Brooke Eye Associates, we understand that finding the right contact lenses is crucial for your vision needs and lifestyle. That’s why we offer a comprehensive evaluation process to determine the best contact lens solution tailored specifically for you.
During your exam, we will carefully assess the health and structure of your eyes, including factors like dry eye, allergies, and the unique shape of your corneas. We use advanced technologies to take precise measurements to ensure a proper fit for your contact lenses. An ill-fitting contact lens can lead to discomfort, blurred vision, and even harm to your eye over time.
Our goal is not just to correct your vision today with contact lenses, but to promote long-term eye health. We will consider your full medical history and visual demands to recommend the ideal type of contact lenses.
For instance, if you have astigmatism, we may prescribe toric contact lenses designed to correct your cornea’s curvature. Toric contact lenses can be made of soft or rigid gas permeable materials and are custom-stabilized to maintain proper orientation.
For those requiring bifocal or progressive correction, we offer multifocal contact lenses that provide clear vision at all distances.
And for those who struggle with soft contact lenses, rigid gas permeable contact lenses can provide sharper vision, though they do require an adaptation period. While less flexible than soft contact lenses, rigid gas permeable contact lenses are very durable and precise.
Our top priority is finding contact lenses that give you clear, comfortable vision while safeguarding your ocular health. We will guide you through each step, from the initial measurements to follow-up fittings, ensuring the contact lenses work optimally for your eyes.
Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions. We want you to feel confident about your contact lenses and maintain your best possible vision and eye health for years to come.
Silicone Hydrogel Contact Lenses
Silicone hydrogel is an advanced contact lens material that provides significantly higher oxygen permeability compared to conventional hydrogel lenses. These lenses allow greater oxygen transmission to the cornea, which is essential for maintaining ocular health, especially for patients with higher oxygen demands. By facilitating adequate oxygenation, silicone hydrogel lenses can reduce complications associated with hypoxia and enable some patients who previously could not tolerate certain lens modalities to safely remain in contact lens wear.
Multifocal Contact Lenses
For patients with presbyopia, we offer specialty multifocal contact lens designs to address their near, intermediate, and distance vision needs. Multifocal lenses feature a continuous progression of powers across the entire optical zone, providing seamless vision at all ranges without image drop-outs. These advanced contact lenses allow presbyopic individuals to enjoy clear, functional vision without the need for reading glasses.
Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) Contact Lenses
For patients who cannot achieve satisfactory vision with soft contact lenses or require enhanced optical performance, we prescribe rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses. Despite initial adaptation, RGP lenses often provide superior optical clarity and visual acuity due to their precise, rigid optic zone design. Constructed from highly oxygen-permeable polymers, they offer adequate oxygenation to the cornea. With proper care and handling, RGP lenses can provide a comfortable wearing experience along with excellent optics for those requiring a more visually-optimized contact lens modality.
Toric Contact Lenses for Astigmatism
Toric contact lenses are specially designed to correct corneal astigmatism by incorporating different powers along two perpendicular meridians. This proprietary geometry compensates for the irregular astigmatic corneal shape, enabling focused retinal imagery. Toric lenses are precisely stabilized to maintain their oriented position on the eye during blinking and eye movements. Both soft and rigid gas permeable toric lens materials are available to correct a wide range of astigmatic refractive errors while offering optimal fit, visual acuity and wearing comfort.
